「Immortal Strife」 Gameplay Introduction

2026-01-16

  Dear players

The 60-player fair survival PvP mode "Immortal Strife" is now available. Here you'll engage in battle-royale showdowns, using strategy and skill to stand out from the crowd. Here are the core rules and reward details to help you get started quickly.

I. Participation Requirements and Matchmaking

1.Unlock Requirement: Characters at Lv. 44 or higher can join directly; characters below Lv. 44 may queue and experience the mode by joining a team led by a player who is Lv. 44 or higher.

2.Matchmaking: Enter via the Spar interface. Solo and four-player Team Matchmaking are both supported. The system will match 60 random players to start a match.

II. Core Gameplay Rules and Detailed Mechanics

1. Landing Choices and Zone Types

Zone Types: The map is divided into three types of core areas based on resource density, as well as no-landing zones:

・High-resource Zones (marked in yellow): Areas such as Echo Gorge and Clearwater Forest have significantly higher chest density and high-quality gear refresh rates compared to other zones, but competition is extremely fierce, with many players typically landing in close proximity. These are ideal for players who enjoy head-on team fights.

・Normal-resource Zones (marked in light blue): Supplies are plentiful, and competition is moderate, with balanced refresh rates for gear and skills. These areas suit newcomers or players who prefer steady growth.

・Low-resource Zones (marked in gray): Only basic-quality gear and a small amount of basic items refresh here.

・Gu Burst Zones (marked in purple): No-landing zones throughout the match. Random Gu Bursts will occur within these areas. Regardless of whether you are inside or outside the Toxic Zones, staying in Gu Burst Zones will cause continuous Gu Poison damage that cannot be healed by elixirs. Remaining here too long will result in direct elimination.

2. Supplies Collection and Gear System

Types of Supplies: After landing, you can pick up chests and scattered supplies, including weapons, armor, accessories, healing pills, skill items, Shadowbearer-related items, and more. Supplies refresh in an area centered around your landing point. Refreshed items will not disappear on their own, but may be taken first by other players.

Gear System:

・Quality Tiers: Gear is divided into four tiers—white, blue, purple, and gold. Stats bonuses increase progressively with quality.

・Weapon Traits: Weapons are fixed with two core skills corresponding to their School, and the skill levels increase as the weapon quality improves.

・Accessories & Armor: You can equip up to 3 accessories to boost Vitality and Attack. Gold accessories come with exclusive special affixes and should be paired with their corresponding weapon to maximize the bonus effect. Armor consists of four pieces: Helm, chest armor, leg guards, and boots. Higher quality means higher defense and armor values. When your Vitality is full, you can use elixirs to restore armor. Equipping a full set of armor of the same quality will trigger a set bonus.

Item Categories:

・Medicines: Divided into three tiers—basic, Intermediate, and advanced. Higher quality provides better recovery. Using them requires a 3-second cast; being hit will interrupt the cast, so you should make some distance between you and your enemies before using them in combat. Your bag has up to 6 slots that can be used to hold medicine.

・Shadowbearer-related: Includes Shadowbearer Sword Might (replenishes Shadowbearer skill charges, up to 10 charges stored) and the Shadowbearer Sword Case (raises the maximum Shadowbearer charge limit).

・Support Items: For example, Invisibility Powder, Smoke Bombs, etc., which can be used to conceal yourself or disrupt enemies.

3. Skill System Detailed Overview

The skill set is divided into five major types. All except Martial World skills are quality-graded (Blue - Manual, Purple - Tome, Gold · Ultimacy). Higher quality grants stronger Stats. Some skills come with special enhancement effects; hold the skill button to view its specific upgrade path.

・Weapon Skills: Determined by the weapon you have equipped, they automatically replace your Normal Attack and the corresponding skill slots, and are your core damaging tools. Aside from Sylph weapon skills, which provide healing effects, weapon skills of other Schools focus mainly on dealing damage.

・General Skills: Include basic moves such as jump and dash. You can obtain them by looting supplies or purchasing from shops. Some General Skills have the potential to reduce their own CD.

・Martial World Skills: Have no quality grades. You can obtain them by looting supplies, purchasing from shops, or talking with NPCs in the world. Some NPC exclusive skills provide special effects such as being Invincible, damage immunity, or powerful healing. When you run into such NPCs, it is recommended to talk to them and learn these skills first.

・Break Free Skills: These are your core survival skills. You can obtain them by looting supplies or purchasing from shops. In the mid to late game, lacking a Break Free Skill makes it easy to be locked down in enemy combos and eliminated, so bringing one is highly recommended.

・Shadowbearer Skill: Combines offense and defense capabilities. Hitting an enemy will inflict a control effect, making it ideal for initiating team fights. If you're losing, it can be used for movement to kite and escape. After being hit by it, you will enter a cooldown state for 3 seconds. After touching Shadowbearer's Sword Might three times, the "Sword Flight" skill will be unlocked in the Ultimate Skill slot. Using it allows high-altitude flight for 40 seconds (you cannot pick up supplies during this time), suitable for strategic repositioning or scouting enemy movements from the sky.

4. Survival, Combat, and Dynamic Mechanics

・Toxic Zone (Miasma) Mechanic: Throughout the match, the toxic zone will shrink 4 times. Each time the zone shrinks, it will shrink faster than the last. The damage taken while inside the toxic zone gradually increases, and in the later phases, the toxic zone will also apply a healing-reduction effect—the longer you stay in the Toxic Zone, the stronger the healing reduction. The final zone will inflict a very high healing reduction effect. Plan your route to avoid the Toxic Zone in advance and prioritize moving along the edges of the zone.

・Airdrops (Gemlight Treasures): Randomly refreshes mid-match. There will be an obvious indicator when they land. They contain high-quality gear and Jade Domino. Many players will be attracted there, and the contest will be fierce. Evaluate your own strength before heading there.

・Gu Burst (Bombardment): Within a Gu Burst Zone, random Gu Bursts will trigger and deal damage. Random bombardments may also appear outside the Gu Burst Zone. When you encounter a bombardment area, retreat quickly to avoid it.

・Store NPCs (Gemlight Tower Trade Point): Fixed locations on the map, where you can spend Jade Domino (obtained by killing players, opening chests, and quest acquisition) to purchase supplies. You can exchange for high-tier medicines, rare skills, advanced accessories, and more. It's recommended to use them to make up for missing skills or to gamble for key enhanced affixes.

・In-match Quests: Divided into two types: yellow quests are for killing specified mobs; red quests are bounties targeting specific players.

Mounts and Vehicles:

  ・Wild Animals:

・Riding them increases Movement SPD and grants a damage immunity bonus. In safe situations, they can be used for traveling across the map, but remember to dismount promptly when entering combat.

  ・Cannon Carrier:

・Can use the skills [Bombardment] and [Break Assault]. While mounted, you gain very high damage immunity, but being controlled or hit by Shadowbearer will knock you off the vehicle, and you will be unable to operate it again for 10 seconds. Activating [Break Assault] grants Unstoppable for 5 seconds, preventing you from being knocked off.

5. Talent System and Progression

You will receive Talent points after each match, which are used to unlock the three Talent routes in the Talent interface. Proper distribution of Talent points can greatly increase your combat strength in matches.

Victory Conditions & Elimination Rules

・Match Duration: Matches are fast-paced and last around 15 minutes. You'll need to balance time between looting for supplies and engaging in combat.

・Elimination Rules: Players who are defeated mid-match are immediately eliminated, with no resurrection mechanic. In Team Mode, supplies dropped by a fallen teammate can be picked up within 1 minute; after that, they disappear. Voluntarily disconnecting from the match is treated as automatic elimination; no rewards are granted while disconnected, and being offline for too long will cost you a small amount of credit.

・Victory Condition: If multiple players/teams are still alive when the timer runs out, the winner is decided by the total remaining Vitality. If total Vitality is the same, ranking is based on survival time, with the side that survived longer declared the winner.

May fortune favor your blade! Dominate the battlefield of "Immortal Strife", ride the storm of war, and win "chicken dinners" one match after another!
